Pantry Essentials
I don’t know about you, but no matter how good meals may sound when we make our meal plan for the week, some nights what we have planned is not what we want. Not to mention, some nights the meal we have planned isn’t super quick. When life gets busy and you have unexpected things happen, you want something quick without having to eat out! That’s why we have staples I try to keep on hand in our pantry.
Pantry Essentials:
Chili beans
Diced tomatoes
Rotel
Mixed Vegetables
Canned corn
Black beans
Refried beans
Pasta
Marinara Sauce
Macaroni and cheese
Salsa
Tortilla chips
Crackers
Rice
Cream of mushroom
Chicken broth
I love to keep all of these things on hand because it gives us so many easy options! Most of these things can be made with any meat you may have on hand. These are some of the options it gives us:
With ground beef you can make spaghetti, chili, taco soup, and vegetable beef soup.
With chicken you can make Verde chicken, chicken noodles, chicken taco soup, and chicken and rice.
If you have roast, you can make stroganoff with noodles and cream of mushroom.
The great thing about most of these, is I can throw them in the crockpot to cook if I know my day is going to be busy! I’m terrible at remembering to get things out of the freezer to thaw, so the ability to throw it into a crock pot frozen helps save us so much time and money!
This season of life is very busy for us. Some weeks things don’t go as planned, but I love that having a full pantry keeps me from having to stress about dinner for my family! What are some of your pantry essentials?
