Favorite Winter Dishes
It’s that time of year. Dark before dinner, holiday parties with friends and family, and all the yummy candy and desserts!
I want to share some of my favorite dishes this time of year!
My go-to appetizers for parties are:
Ham and Cheese Sliders - I just use butter as the glaze
I always pick something from the list above. I usually decide once I determine how much time I’m going to have or if I happen to have some of the ingredients already on hand! Most of them can be made in 30 minutes or less. The crockpot one is great because you can throw everything in and just let it cook until it’s time to go.
We LOVE soup all year long, but especially in the winter when it’s cold outside and you have it simmering on the stove or in the crockpot!
Our faves are:
Chili - My husband makes the best!
Vegetable Soup (I prefer no beef, but my husband loves beef in his)
White Chicken Chili - I use a friend’s recipe that cannot be beat!
Pot Roast Beef Stroganoff - I leave out the mushrooms for us.
Who doesn’t love holiday desserts and candy?! There are some I’ve grown up loving and others I have come to love since being married.
My family favorites growing up were (and still are):
Chocolate covered pretzels
Chocolate covered peanuts
Peanut butter crackers dipped in chocolate (specifically ritz crackers with Peter Pan peanut butter)
Peanut Butter Fudge
No Bake Cookies
As you can see, I come from a peanut butter and chocolate loving family!
New Holiday Faves:
Hubby’s Homemade Angel Food Cake (seriously THE BEST)
Haystacks (specifically a good friend’s recipe)
No Bake Cheesecake with salted caramel topping
Let me know in the comments what your favorite winter or holiday dishes are! I’m always looking for something to change things up!
