Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Your Spouse

Gift ideas for him or her and fun date ideas to celebrate Valentines Day.

This Valentines Day you may not be able to get a babysitter. Maybe you have to stick to a budget. Let’s talk about some fun date night alternatives so you can still celebrate with your spouse!

  • Just remember you can always celebrate another night if you are wanting a kid free celebration.

  • If you are spending the day with your kids, involve them! Have a fun family dinner out or at home! Pizza Hut usually does heart shaped pizzas. You could make homemade pizza at home and shape it like a heart!

  • If you want a cozy night in, light some candles and make your spouse their favorite dinner.

  • Pick up your favorite take out and play games at home.

  • Recreate your first date!

  • Go for a drive, grab some coffee, and talk about things you love about one another.

  • Try food at a new spot in town that neither of you have tried yet.

  • Venture out of town, even if it’s only to a restaurant less than an hour away because then you have driving time to reminisce.

Gift ideas for him:

  • Get him a basket of his favorite things. Could be as simple as favorite treats or you could mix it up and throw in different small things that he loves.

  • Gift cards to his favorite places.

  • Something fun or silly.

Gift ideas for her:

  • Flowers and chocolates are great, but I love when my husband gifts me my love language. He has always been an awesome gift giver, but my love language is quality time and acts of service so whenever he plans date nights without me asking or completes a task around the house that I dread, it means so much more to me than flowers or chocolate.

  • A YES day! What girl wouldn’t love it if her man said yes to everything for a day?!

  • A day of pampering… massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, coffee, shopping. It doesn’t have to be all of these. It could even just be a giftcard to do one of these.

  • Make her a basket full of her favorite things! My husband has done this many times and I love the thought every single time.

  • Or check out some favorites below!

Just remember to show love to your spouse on more than just Valentines Day! However, I’m always down for a reason to celebrate!

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!
