Bucket List Places for Our Kids

Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY

The Ark Encounter is something I have wanted to do for a few years now. With our oldest turning 4 this year, I think it would be a really neat experience for him too! It’s definitely something I would like to make a weekend out of because I’ve read it’s best experienced over a two-day period. Factoring in the drive, we are going to try to go on a 3-day weekend. We are going to spend a day exploring the ark and the zoo. They have a Creation Museum that would be a great way to top off the weekend!

Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN

My parents took my brother and I to the Opryland Resort when we were teenagers, and it was such a neat experience! It’s so cool inside and there’s lots of dining, shopping, and options of areas to explore. I think our kids would love the indoor boat ride!

Exploreum Science Center in Mobile, AL

I was 16 when I experienced the Mobile Science Center, and I can only imagine how much my kids will love it at a young age since I loved it at 16. It’s definitely something my husband will enjoy too! It’s very hands on and has so many different areas inside!

USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, AL

One thing I am excited about being a boy mom is getting to experience all the cool things that boys love through their eyes! You get to explore the ship, and I KNOW my oldest will absolutely love it! They also have an aviation museum on the property with lots of different aircraft. I just don’t recommend going in during the hottest time of the year.

Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL

My husband has wanted to visit the Kennedy Space Center for a long time, and we have never made it happen. Our son is VERY into astronauts and space right now so I would LOVE it if we could make this happen for his birthday this year. Either way, it’s definitely on the bucket list! They have a multistory planet playground for ages 2-12 that I know Luke would love for his 4th birthday!

LEGOLAND in Winter Haven, FL

While I would love to take our kids to Disneyland someday, Lego Land seems more doable for us, and having boys just seems like it would be lots of fun! Definitely would rather wait until our second boy is at least 2 so they can both enjoy it!

I loved our adventures before having kids, but there’s something so magical about sharing experiences with your children! You get to experience life through their eyes and see the joy on their faces. We have had many adventures with our first boy that I will cherish forever, so I can’t wait to share adventures as a family of four!

What are some places you have taken your kids or want to take them? Let me know in case I need to add it to our bucket list!
